Harold John Odette

Harold John Odette, 85, of Fox Haven Court, died Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at Lexington Medical Center following two years of declining health. The funeral will be 9 a.m. Monday, March 21, 2011, at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, where he was a member, with Father Al Gondek officiating. Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at National Cemetery, Salisbury, with military graveside rites. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Davidson Funeral Home. Mr. Odette was born December 3, 1925, in Cabel County, W. Va., to Arnold L. Odette and Rosa Weigand Odette. He was retired from the U.S. Navy, and a member of Amvets Post 13, VFW Post 3074, and American Legion Post 8.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Fern Richardson Odette, who died in 1997; and a brother, Arnold Odette “Jr.”. Surviving are his wife, Gloria Dumontier Odette of the home; son, David Louis Odette and wife, Debbie, of Ohio; daughter, Catherine Leonard and husband, Curt, of Welcome; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Gerald Odette and wife, Kathy, of Tavares, Fl.
