Harold Wagner

Mr. Harold Alfred Wagner, 79, of Evergreen Avenue, passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Hinkle Hospice House. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 31 at First Baptist Church, by the Rev. Tommy Wilson. A private burial will be held at the Lexington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service. Mr. Wagner was born December 7, 1930 in Davie County to Alfred Owens Wagner and Lila Howerton Wagner. He was a 1949 graduate of Coolemee High School and of NC State University in 1958. He worked as a senior engineer at PPG Industries until his retirement. He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he served as a Sunday school teacher and Sunday school superintendent, was a member of Philpott Fellowship Class and served as Deacon. His son, Eric Reid Wagner, preceded him in death, as well as a sister, Jean Wagner Baggett. He is survived by his wife, Germaine Wellman Wagner, of the home; his daughter, Elaine Sill, and husband, Eric Brant Sill, of Lexington; his sister, Sue Steele Correl; his grandchildren, Eric Brant Sill, Jr., Sarah Savannah Sill, and Jacob Reid Sill; and his great grandchild, Calix Jeremiah Sill, as well as nieces and nephews.
