Harold Eugene Wilson

Harold Eugene Wilson, 86, of Stone Gables Drive, Thomasville, died Saturday, October 27, at Hinkle Hospice House.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, Oct. 31 at Memorial Evangelical Reformed Church, where he was a member, by Pastor Zach Hall, Rev. James Peeler and Rev. Bill Sosebee.  Burial with military rites will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends 12:30 to 1:30 pm prior to the funeral service in the church fellowship hall.

Mr. Wilson was born December 4, 1931 in Franklin, IN to Sylvester Newton Wilson and Jessie Combs Wilson.  He was a veteran of the US Army, serving two years in Korea and retired from PPG Industries.  He also served in the Indiana National Guard and was a former member of VFW Post 3074, American Legion Post 8 and Amvets Post 13.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Souther Wilson of the home; his sons, Larry Wilson of Linwood, Garry Wilson (Theresa) and Brian Wilson (Susan), both of Reeds; his daugther, Karen Bruker of Augusta, GA; his step-son, Roger Neil Saunders (Gwen) of Mooresville, his step-daughter, Terri Wheeler of Charlotte; his brothers, Russell Wilson of Columbus, IN and Ray Wilson of Shelbyville, IN; his sister, Dorothy Furgeson of Shelbyville, IN; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, and three step great-great grandchildren.

Memorials should be directed to Memorial Evangelical Reformed Church, 3806 East Old Highway 64, Lexington NC 27292 and Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington NC 27292.
