Harriette Grant Morgan, 69, of Mill St. in Lexington went home to be with the Lord Tuesday September 15th, 2009, at her home after an extended illness.
The funeral will be 2pm. Saturday, September 19, 2009, at Davidson Funeral Home officiated by Preacher Clyde Akers.
Mrs. Morgan was born on March 29, 1940, to Sidney and Jane Grant of Bristol, Connecticut. Mrs. Morgan was a retired furniture maker from Stanley Furniture. She was a member of Freedom Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the Choir and also was part of the three musketeers that helped serve food for bereaved families. She loved her Church family and helping others, even in her declining health she would still try and help her family and friends. Mrs. Morgan enjoyed hunting, fishing, making jigs with her husband and she also enjoyed gardening, canning, crocheting and Native American research. She was preceded in death by her parents Sidney Grant and Jane Patch Grant, and one sister Kay Goodell.
Her loved ones left behind are her husband Larry Morgan of the home; three sons, Joseph Salinas and his wife, Sherri, James Grant and his wife, Rebecca, all of Lexington and Danial Salinas of Cherokee, NC; one special adopted son, Jamie Redfern and wife, Ana, of Winston-Salem; two special adopted daughters, Lynn Cranmer and Tina Campbell of Lexington; a special former daughter-in-law, Christy Jones; 12 grandchildren, Justin, Jackson and Rachel Salinas, Cheyenne and Shawnee Grant, Michael Ransom and Tyler Reamy all of Lexington, Hannah and Brandyn Salinas of Mooresville, Alexandria Harris of Nebraska, Keith”Tator” Wilson of Frisco, and Isaac Redfern of Winston-Salem; one brother Roger Grant and his wife Liz of Veradale, Washington, three sisters; Charlotte Kimsey of Lexington, Dee Powers of Florida and Diane Smith of Vermont.
Mrs. Morgan had a very large extended family and loved each of them dearly. She was called maw, sister and grandma by so many we cannot begin to name them all but you know who you are.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 pm on Saturday September 19th at the funeral home.
