Harry Val Embree, 87, of White Oak Drive, died Thursday, June 10, 2010, at his home.
A Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel with the Rev. Clyde Akers officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at the funeral home.
Mr. Embree was born April 9, 1923, in Madison County, Mo., to Ogle Levi Embree and Marie Cromer Embree. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a life member of the VFW and UPHA. Mr. Embree was a member of Christian Church in Missouri and retired supervisor from Ford Motor Company. He was preceded in death by his parents and also 2 grandchildren, Bryan Embree and Robert Milby.
Surviving are his wife Ellen Young Embree of the home, sons, Steve Embree and wife, Rhea, of Moberly MO, Gregory Embree and wife, Kathryn, of Axtell, Tx, Mark Embree and wife Phyllis, of Dallas, Ga, Bruce Embree and wife, Penelope, of Palmetto Bay, FL; daughters, Jamie Embree of Fernandino FL, Becky Foster and husband, Don, of Moberly, Mo, Glenda Jourdanais and husband, Thomas, of Dunkirk, NY, Dena Gibson and husband, Mike, of Clemmons, NC, Barbara Clark and husband, Ernest, of Chiefland, Fl, Ruth Embree of Cornelius, NC and Nancy Coyle and husband, Kevin, of Mayville, NY; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and 2 great – great grandchildren.
