James Harry Hill 79, of Lexington, passed away Saturday morning November 22, 2014 in Forsyth Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday November 26, 2014 at Good Hope United Methodist Church where he was a member with Rev. Chris Bennett officiating. Burial will follow the service in Good Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery with full military honors by Davidson County Honor Guard.
No formal visitation will be held.
Harry was born December 23, 1935 in Davidson County to J.W. Hill and Beulah Sink Hill. He was the owner of Harry’s Automotive for over 50 years. He was a veteran of the US Army, and was a member of the Friendship Class at Good Hope, the VFW, the American Legion and Independent Garage Owners. He had a love of racing, his grandchildren, family and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Shelby Chisom.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Jean of the home; son, Harry Lee Hill of Lexington; his daughter Lisa Chisom (Mark) of Lexington; grandchildren, Tasha Hill, Brandon Hill, Chasity Hill, Summer Hill, and Savannah Chisom; sister, Linda Hill Warfford ; sisters in law, Susan Hill, Diana Bordeaux, Sarah Gelotte, Mary Goins, and Cheryl Skidmore; brothers in law, Clarence Warfford, Tobie Hill, Jimmy Goins, Bobby Goins and their families; as well as a niece, Beverly Berrier (Tim) and their children Brent, and Clay Berrier.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be directed to the Shelby Montgomery Lee Chisom Scholarship Fund or the Good Hope United Methodist Church Building Fund, 10253 Hampton Road, Lexington, NC 27295, or to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
