Mr. Harry Melvin Miller, 75, of Lexington, died Wednesday at the North Carolina State Veterans Home in Salisbury.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 10, 2008 from the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, by Rev. Tony Hill. Burial with military rites will follow at Lexington City Cemetery.
Mr. Miller was born June 22, 1933 in Davidson County to Gurnie Miller and Mary Tussey Miller. He was the owner and operator of Miller Painting Company for many years. He was a veteran of the US Army, having served in the 101st Airborne Division, 513th Battalion. His wife of 51 years, Lois Dean Wilson Miller, preceded him in death on August 2, 2008, as well as his brothers, Frank Miller, Billy Miller, Alfred Miller, and Bobby Miller; and his sisters, Margaret Tussey and Carolyn Reich.
He is survived by his daughter, Terri Miller and special friend, Randy Smith, of Arcadia; his sons: Mark Miller of the home, Alan Miller and wife, Tammi, of Lexington; his grandchildren: Emily Brunk and husband Paul, Bethany Goodman and husband Scott, Adam & Grant Miller; and his great grandson: Tyler Goodman; his sister, Becky Miller Jones; his brother-in-law, Buck Tussey, and a host of loving nieces & nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
