Harvey Lee Harris

Harvey Lee Harris, 71, of Hargrave Road, died Wednesday, May 16, 2007, at Lexington Memorial Hospital. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Forest Hill Memorial Park by the Rev. David Robinson. Mr. Harris was born May 8, 1936, in Davie County, to John Franklin Harris and Sadie Belle Wyles Harris. Before retirement he was a supervisor with Dixie Furniture with 43 years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting and trapping. Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his father; brother, Bud Harris; Surviving are his wife, Charlene Potter Harris of the home; mother of Mocksville; son, Ray Harris and wife, Rachel, of Lexington; stepsons, Ricky Lankford and wife, Rhonda, and Danny Roberts Jr., all of Lexington; daughters, Susie Dillard and husband, Steve, of Harmony, Regina Frazier and husband, Dean, of Lexington, Tina Hollis and husband, Earl, of Lake Waccamaw; stepdaughter, Melia Blankinship and husband, Everette, of Richlands, Va.; sister, Peggy Jones of Mocksville; 19 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and best friend, Jessie Bellany. The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
