Hazel Hickey Engstrom

Hazel Hickey Engstrom, 86, passed away to be with her Lord on August 3, 2012 at Hinkle Hospice House.   Memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the St. Lukes  Lutheran Church, in Charlotte where Mrs. Engstrom was an active member. Officiating will be Reverends Steven Lorimer and Sara Ilderton. Inurnment will be in the Garden of Prayer at the church. Following the service, visitation will be in the church fellowship hall.   Mrs. Engstrom was born September 10, 1925 in Fairgrove, Michigan to the late Percy and Caroline Hickey. She graduated from Fairgrove High School and Bay City Business College. She was employed by Consumers Power Company, Bay City, MI; Wellesley College, Wellesley, MA and John Crosland Company in Charlotte. Preceding her in death was her husband Eldon Engstrom; sister, Ruth Ricketts; brothers, Harold, Robert and Roy Hickey.   Survivors include daughters, Linda Engstrom of Lexington, NC; Marcia Lee and husband Gregory of Sylva, NC; son, Scott Engstrom and granddaughter Alexandra of Franklin, MA.   Memorials may be made to St. Lukes Lutheran Church, PO Box 11063, Charlotte, NC 28220 or Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.   Online condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
