Hazel Virginia Flynt

Hazel Virginia Sloop Flynt, age 83 of Fred Sink Road passed away Wednesday morning December 15, 2010 at her home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 18, 2010 at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel with Rev. Ken Harris, Dr. Harold Fletcher and Rev. T.W. Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at Union Grove Baptist Church cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour prior to service and other times at the home of her daughter Cathy Mathis. Hazel was born on February 24, 1927 in Wilkes County to Thomas Jefferson Sloop and Ada Frances Ward Sloop. She was a machine operator with R J Reynolds and a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents. Surviving are one daughter, Cathy Mathis and husband Mike of Winston-Salem and one grandchild, Cody Mathis. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Union Grove Baptist Church, 2295 Union Grove Road, Lexington, NC 27295. Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel is serving the family.
