Hazel Faye Lovelace

March 26, 1937 — January 23, 2023

Hazel Faye Walker Lovelace, 85, of Davidson County, passed to life eternal on Monday, January 23, 2023.

A service celebrating her life will be held Saturday, February 4, 2023, at 11:00 AM at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, with The Rev. Matthew Miller officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.

Hazel was born on March 26, 1937, in Cleveland County, to the late Isaac Walker, Sr. and Pauline Hull Walker.

She retired from Specialty Lighting where she worked for many years. Hazel enjoyed gardening, rock painting, word searches, and loved her dog, Buster, whom she rescued. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Edmund Lovelace, Jr; brothers, Bud Walker, Isaac Walker, Jr, and Michael Walker; sisters, Gail Walker, and Mary Frances Luco.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Jim Lovelace, of Lexington, and Kelly Newsome of, Lexington; brother, Tommy Walker and wife, Jo, of Shelby; sisters, Delores Owens and husband, Dennis, of Shelby, and Betty Jean Hudson, of Waco; brothers-in-law, Elmer Whitaker, of Shelby, and Terry Walker, of Shelby; sisters-in-law, Madeline Queen and husband, Bob, of Shelby, and Betty Lovelace, of Shelby; Special friends, Teena Walker, and Ramona Phelps; her faithful companions, Buster, and Bella; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would also like to thank those at Hospice of Davidson County for their care and support and to Davidson Medical Ministries for their kindness.
