Hazel Williamson Sharpe

Hazel Wilma Williamson Sharpe, age 91, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2016 at Piedmont Crossing in Thomasville, NC. A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Jersey Baptist Church Cemetery in Lexington, NC with the Rev. Roland Cavanaugh officiating. There will also be a memorial service at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at the Unity Place Chapel in the Main Pavilion at Piedmont Crossing in Thomasville, NC. Mrs. Sharpe was born on February 26, 1924 in Alliance, Ohio to Clyde Williamson and Wilma Hahn Williamson. She received her masters from UNCG in Education and served as a Kindergarten teacher for the City of Lexington, most recently at South Lexington Elementary School. She was also a member of Jersey Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Beverly Karen Fisher. Surviving are her loving husband, Daniel Sharpe of the home; two daughters, Janet Sue Long of Buford, GA, and Patricia Ann Spakes (Jerry Finn) of Chapel Hill, NC; two step-children, Danna Myers (Bill) of Winston Salem, NC, and Charles Sharpe (Johnna) of Raleigh, NC; one sister, Grace Eckley (Wilton) of Des Moines, Iowa; 11 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers you may direct memorials to the United Church Homes and Services Foundation (Memory Care Services) at 102 Leonard Ave. Newton, NC 28658 or to Hospice of Davidson County at 200 Hospice Way Lexington, NC 27292.
