Hazel Leonard Waselesky

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Hazel Mae Leonard Waselesky, age 83, on Sunday, July 6th, 2025, in her hometown of Lexington, NC. Born on Friday, September 19th, 1941, in Davidson County, NC, Hazel was a cherished daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Hazel was preceded in death by her loving husband, Frank Waselesky; her treasured daughter, Tammy Munday; her parents, Golden Mack and Jenny Lee Leonard; and her brothers, Bob, Henry and Richard Leonard.

She is survived by her son, Russell Munday, and his wife, Sharon; her loving daughter, Lorraine Rummage, and her husband, Todd; Hazel was also a proud grandmother to Michael Rummage (Jessica), Ryne Rummage (Brittany), and Brody Munday, and a doting great-grandmother to four beautiful great-grandchildren.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate Hazel's life will be held at Forest Hill Memorial Park on Wednesday, July 9th, at 2 p.m., where friends and family are invited to pay their respects.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hinkle Hospice House or Shiloh Church.
