H.B. (Jack) Rayhill

H.B. "Jack" Rayhill, 98, of Fairview Drive, died Monday, Oct. 30, 2006, at Brian Center in Lexington. A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Forest Hill Memorial Park by Dr. Ray Howell III and the Rev. Tommy Wilson. Mr. Rayhill was born in Garland County, Ark., to Corwin W. and Lillie Barr Rayhill. He was self-employed, having owned Jack's Typewriter Exchange and Jack's Litho Press before retiring. He was a former member of the Lexington Civitan Club for 25 years and helped organize the Lexington Moose Lodge, where he received a certificate for signing up 25 members. He was a member of First Baptist Church on West Third Avenue. He was preceded in death by his wife, Odessa H. "Dess" Rayhill, in 1993. Surviving are a sister, Bessie Stafford of Asheboro, and several nieces and nephews. There will be no formal visitation, although Mr. Rayhill will be available for viewing at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington, until the time of the funeral Wednesday. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 436, Lexington, NC 27293.
