Helen Frances Byerly, 87, of Chestnut Street, Lexington, died Sunday, May 7, 2006, at her home.
Helen was born Nov. 3, 1918, in Davidson County to E.C. Byerly and Betty Chloe Aderholdt Byerly. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and a graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne College. She taught school in Newton-Conover, Asheboro and Charlotte and for many years at Grimes School in Lexington. Helen was a devoted and loving daughter, sister and aunt. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, James E. Byerly.
Surviving are brother Manly Byerly and wife, Norma, of Lexington; sister Emma Mae Byerly of the home; niece Betty Ann Byerly of Durham; and uncle Dr. Mark Aderholdt of High Point.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 11, at Lexington City Cemetery, with the Rev. Derek Boggs officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the home of her brother at 602 Peachtree St., Lexington.
