Helen Abbott Dills, age 76, of Abbotts Court, Lexington passed away Saturday (March 5, 2011) at Hinkle Hospice House. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday (March 8, 2011) in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Pearson officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Gardens Park in High Point.
The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 10:00 until 11:00 am Tuesday prior to the service and at other times at their respective homes.
Helen was born in Guilford County, March 30, 1934 to Thomas William Abbott and Purnie Anne Mabe Abbott. She was a retired employee of Clarendon Furniture Industries and a member of Stoner’s Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas “Andrew” Dills; four sisters, Nona Smith, Jessie Harris, Polly Julian and Ruth Pendry and three brothers, Vernon, Carlos and Ray Abbott.
Surviving are; one daughter, Drema Sue Dills of Lexington; three sons, David Dills and wife Donna of Bluefield, W.VA, Clyde Dills and wife Kay of Lexington and Johnny Dills and wife Donna of Sanford; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Kenneth Abbott of Salisbury and Gene “J.D.” Abbott of Wallburg.
