Helen Eloise Leonard Everhart

Helen Eloise Leonard Everhart, 73, of Arrowhead Drive, died Tuesday, June 13, 2006, at her home after an extended illness. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, by the Revs. Michael Bowers and Byron Barker. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Everhart was born in Davidson County June 27, 1932, to Robert Cicero Leonard and Mae Parks Leonard. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. A lifelong resident of Davidson County, she was a homemaker and possessed many talents and hobbies. She was an avid doll collector and doll restorer. She was a lifetime member of Davidson County Home Extension, Pilgrim community, district treasurer for 23 years and a member of the Sharing and Caring Club. Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Stokes Everhart of the home; three daughters, Susan Shields and her husband, Donnie, of Colfax and Sandra Sink and her special friend, Brad Bowers, and Cindy Beck and her husband, Leonard, all of Lexington; two grandchildren, Chad Shields and his wife, Chris, and Paul Kinney and his wife, Tonya; two great-grandchildren, Logan Kinney and Olivia Kinney; two brothers, Finch Leonard and his wife, Mary, and Lawrence "Bus" Leonard and his wife, Anna, all of Lexington; three sisters, Myrtle Whittington, Mary Everhart and Geneva Hedrick, all of Lexington; a sister-in-law, Mildred Essick and her husband, Garland, of Lexington; many nieces and nephews; and three special friends, Arlene Hicks, Pat Wadford and Bernice Benton. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, and other times at the home. A special thanks to Hospice for all their wonderful care. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Hospice of Davidson County, P.O.
