Helen Miller Freedle

Helen Miller Freedle, 93, of N.C. Highway 150 North, died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem after several months of declining health. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Friendship United Methodist Church, where she was a lifetime member, by the Rev. Carroll C. Lupton Jr. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Freedle was born Aug. 20, 1913, in Davidson County to Willie Mae Miller. She was a retired employee of Dixie Furniture and was a member of the Ladies Bible Class and the United Methodist Women of her church. She started teaching Sunday school at the age of 13. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Palmer Freedle Sr., in 2000 and a granddaughter, Sandra Freedle Goss, in 1996. Surviving are one son, Russell Freedle Jr. and his wife, Norma, of Lexington; one daughter, Glenola "Lynn" Shoaf and her husband, Kenneth, of Lexington; four grandchildren, Scarlet S. Link and her husband, Danny, Debra F. Corn, Anita F. Milsap and her husband, Chris, and Rhonda F. Huffman and her husband, David; six great-grandchildren, Kendra L. Israel and her husband, Jason, T.J. Bailey and his wife, Stacy, Hannah, Corri and Kinsey Milsap and Shaundee Woosley; and one stepgreat-grandchild, Kali Easton. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington and other times at the home of the daughter, 3671 N.C. Highway 150, Lexington. Memorials may be directed to Friendship United Methodist Church Building Fund, 2840 Friendship Church Road, Lexington, NC 27295 or to the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
