Helen Kellette Hinkle

February 16, 1930 — August 1, 2020

Helen Kellette Hinkle, 90 of Lexington, passed away Saturday, August 1, 2020 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Lexington.

A private graveside service surrounded by her family will be held at Bethesda United Methodist Church Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Rick LeBaube. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

Helen was born on February 16, 1930 in Fayetteville, NC to Eugene Austin Kellette and Lena Carr Koonts Kellette. She was retired mail clerk with the United States Postal Service and a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church where she was very active having started the Helen’s Heavenly Host Tours and had many many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Joe Cleveland Hinkle Sr. and her daughter; Rebecca Hinkle Younts and sister; Dorothy Kellette Essick.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving son, Joe Cleveland Hinkle Jr (Jeannie Workman) of Welcome; her three grandchildren, Cristalle Hinkle Dickerson (Brian), Joe Cleveland “Trey” Hinkle III, Daniel Ryan Younts (Heather); two great-grandchildren, Isabella Riann Hinkle, William Xander Younts, son-in-law, Rick Younts of Lexington; her sister-in-law, Betty Hinkle Charles of High Point; and many wonderful nieces & nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Judes Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 and Trellis Supportive Care of Winston-Salem, NC.
