Helen Beatrice Jones Humphrey, 86, of Periwinkle St., Lincolnton formerly of Lexington, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at her home.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, September 17, 2011 in Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Goodman officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Friday at the funeral home and other times at the home of the son in Tyro.
Mrs. Humphrey was born November 29, 1924 in Mecklenburg County to Howard Jones and Levela West Jones. She was a homemaker, and a member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church. Preceding her in death was her husband, Zelner Gray Humphrey in 1974, three brothers, Wilburn Jones, Carl Eugene Jones, Howard (Jimmy) Jones, two sisters, Evelyn Jones Rickard and Jeanette Jones Hobbs.
Surviving are a son, Kenneth Ray Humphrey and wife, Debbie of Tyro; three daughters, Patricia Goodman and husband, Lattie of Lincolnton, Linda Gray Holdaway of Tyro, Wanda Humphrey Walker and husband, Harold of Lexington, eight grandchildren, Jason Holdaway, Dani Holdaway, Lee Walker, Billy Walker, Kenneth Humphrey Jr., Joe Humphrey, Jeremy Goodman, Laura Goodman, ten great grandchildren, Christian Casselman, Holly Casselman, Jada Holdaway, Alisha Walker, Alex Walker, Logan Walker, McKenzie Walker, Kainen Humphrey, Victoria Humphrey and Abigail Humphrey; three brothers, Bobby Ray Jones and wife, Ann, Paul Edward Jones and wife, Hazel all of Lexington, Buford William Jones and wife, Louise of High Point, and a sister, Barbara Jones Watts of Greensboro.
