Helen Baker Long

Helen Carol Baker Long, born on January 10, 1940, to Nathan Edward Baker and Helen Mae Johnson Baker, peacefully passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2023, at Davie Medical Center in Clemmons. She was 83 years old. Helen was a devoted homemaker and held strong ties to her Baptist Faith throughout her life. She was married to Charles Lindsay Long.

A service will be held in Mrs Long's honor Thursday, August 3, 2023 at 11:00 am at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Preacher Clyde Akers will be officiating the ceremony. A private burial service will be held at Forest Hill Memorial Park.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Nathan and Helen Johnson Baker as well as her brothers, Jim Baker, Marvin Baker, Ricky Baker, Robert Baker, and her sister, Janice Strickland. She was also preceded by her brother-in-law, Ralph King

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Charles, loving daughter, Lynn Colbert, and her husband, Curtis. Additionally, Helen is survived by her brothers, Billy Baker, Larry Baker, Eddie Baker, and her sisters, Shirley King, Karen Coggins, and her husband Don, Deborah Walser, and her husband Ronnie, Sandra Kay Murray, and her husband Jimmy, Patty Gail Burrow, and her husband Mark, and Donna Bivens, and her husband Chris.

In addition to her immediate family, Helen leaves behind a loving legacy through her five cherished grandchildren and eight adored great-grandchildren. They brought joy to her life, and she was a source of love and wisdom to them. Her memory will continue to live on through the generations she touched.

Helen Carol Baker Long will be fondly remembered by her family and friends for her warmth, kindness, and dedication to her faith. May she rest in peace.
