Helen Smith

Helen Younts Smith, 94 formerly of Fairview Dr., Lexington died Monday at 10:30 PM in Abbotts Creek Care & Rehabilitation Center. A Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Thursday May 13, 2010 at Second Presbyterian Church with Rev. Doug Gebhard officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Second Presbyterian Church Parlor. Mrs. Smith was born in Davidson County on April 14, 1916 to Ollie Conrad Younts and Samantha Money Younts. She worked for Parker Miller Jewelers and was a member of Second Presbyterian Church, the Fairview Garden Club and Business and Professional Women’s Club. She also volunteered with Meals on Wheels. She was preceded in death by her husband, George “Badge” Smith on August 20, 2003 and sister, Mabel Younts Bean. Surviving are her son, B. Glenn Smith of Lexington and grandchildren, Glenda S. Walters and husband Sammy; Karen Brown and husband Jason and Scott C. Smith and wife Phyllis, great grandchildren, Jorja Smith and Emily Brown.
