Helen Hanna Taverniti, 82 of Whicker Drive passed away Monday morning, May 19, 2008 peacefully at her home.
A Memorial service will be held Thursday May 22, 2008 at 10:00 am at Faith Missionary Alliance Church with the Rev. Michael Gates and Rev. Albert Smith officiating.
Mrs. Taverniti was born in Bellwood, Pa on February 1, 1926 to Charles and Florence Hostler Hanna. She graduated from Bellwood-Antis High School in Bellwood, PA. She loved reading her Bible. She was an excellent cook and loved having her family around her. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Frank Taverniti and ten children; Joseph and Nancy Taverniti of Pensacola, Fl; Michael and Maxanne Taverniti of Williamsburg, VA; Debbie and Barry Cole of Las Vegas, NV; Denise and Brad Mendenhall of Winston-Salem, NC, Diane Hedrick of Roaring Branch, PA; Mary Ann and Steve Simpson of Clemmons, NC; Nancy and Craig Sellers of Colorado Springs, CO; Frank Taverniti of Winston-Salem, NC; Charles and Rebecca Taverniti of Lexington, NC; and Ellen Adams of Clemmons, NC. She is also survived by twenty-three grandchildren, Frank Jason (deceased), Dominic, Alecia, Angela, Candala, Joshua, Elliot, Hannah, Samuel, April, Laurie, David, Kelly, Kristi, Layne, Michael, Trevor, Kelly, John, Charles, Anastasia, Nickalaus, Nicole, and ten great grandchildren, Abigail, Olivia, Patrick, Autumn, Alex, Jacob, Hannah, Sydney, Jackson and Ciara. A brother Blair Hanna of Bellwood, PA and a sister Anna Mary Shaw of Hollidaysbury, PA.
One of Helen’s favorite quotes was from John Newton, “I am not what I ought to be, I am not what I wish to be, I am not what I hope to be But by the Cross of Christ I am not what I was.”
