Helen Wilson Young

Helen Wilson Young, 89, of Starboard Reach, died Sunday, December 2, 2007, at Hospice Home at High Point. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, December 7, 2007, at Davidson Funeral Home, by the Revs. Cindy Arnold and Care Goodstal. Burial will follow in Linwood United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Young was born March 14, 1918, in Plum Tree, N.C. to Daniel Grady Wilson and Eugenia Fitzgerald Wilson. She was a graduate of University of North Carolina Women College in Greensboro. Mrs. Young was a retired teacher from Davidson County Schools. She was a member of Linwood United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, David Hoyle Young who died in 1991. Surviving are son, David Young and wife, Teresa, of Linwood; daughter, Cathy Dunn Hedgecock and husband, Roger, of Lexington; grandchildren, Chris Dunn and wife, Laurie, of Wilmington, and Keegan Young of Charlotte; and great-granddaughter, Erica Dunn. The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of High Point, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262.
