Helen Hemphill Yarbrough, 80, of Kimberly Lane, died Thursday, March 27, 2014, at Lexington Health Care.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014, at Coggins Memorial Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Lewis Johns officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church from noon to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service.
Mrs. Yarbrough was born December 30, 1933, in Davidson County, to Lewis Grady Hemphill and Mary Etta Beck Hemphill. She was retired from J. Smith Young YMCA, where she had served as a book keeper. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, Lewis Junior Hemphill, Walter Lee Hemphill, and Paul Franklin Hemphill; and sisters, Frances Jane Carter and Alice Faye Woods.
Surviving are her loving husband of 60 years, Horace Vestal Yarbrough of the home; son, Greg Yarbrough and wife Susan of Chesterfield, Va.; daughter, Jimmietta Y. Sadler and husband Roger of Lexington; grandchildren, Andrea Dawn Graf, Sarah Jane Sadler, Andrew William Sadler, Zachary Matthew Yarbrough, Daniel Spencer Yarbrough; great-grandchildren, Harleigh, Sterling, and Peyton; sisters, Eva Carol Ringley of Lincolnton and Gladys Marie Jones of Seabrook, Texas.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to Coggins Memorial Baptist Church, 1306 South Main Street, Lexington, NC 27292.
