Henry Edward Bizzell Jr., 87, of Rowe Road, Lexington died Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, at his home.
The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and at other times at the home.
Mr. Bizzell was born Jan. 13, 1926, in Guilford County to Henry Edward Bizzell and Florence Yokley Bizzell. He was a graduate of High Point College and received his master's from The University of North Carolina. He was a retired principal, having served with the Randolph and Guilford County schools and High Point City and Asheboro City schools. Ed honorably served his country in The U.S. Army serving in WWII, where he was wounded in the winter of 1945 as a Army infantryman. His parents and son, Henry Edward Bizzell III, and a grandson, Will Bizzell, all preceded him in death.
Surviving are his loving wife of 61 years, Susan Sink Bizzell of the home; son Brad Bizzell (Melody) of Blacksburg, Va.; his daughters, Tawn Bizzell and Renee Bizzell, both of Lexington; grandson Erick Bizzell and granddaughters Erin Edwards, Kellie Michael and Susan Burke; great-grandchildren Ethan Edwards, Emma Edwards, Katie Michael and Amy Michael.
