Henry Dwire Sink, 80 of Alston Brook Nursing Home and formerly of Myers Park Drive, Lexington died Tuesday afternoon at Alston Brook.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at First Lutheran Church where he was a member. The service will be conducted by Rev. Derek Boggs. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
Mr. Sink was born September 8, 1926 in Davidson County to Clem Clodfelter Sink and Mary Ila Sink. Mr. Sink was a graduate of Welcome High School and High Point University. He first worked as a teller at Lexington State Bank and retired as an accountant having worked for Harold G. Myers, CPA. After retirement he was self-employed filing income taxes. At First Lutheran Church he served as church treasurer, a position he held since 1968. Mr. Sink was a former member of the Jaycees, Lions Club, and also served as a Sunday School Class treasurer, was a member of Hand Chimes Choir, the Senior Group, the Lutheran Men, and was in the Senior Choir for 25 years. Mr. Sink was a veteran of the US Army, having served in the European Theater in WWII. He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Louise Doggett Sink who passed away in 1998.
Surviving are special friends Henry and Dorothy Sobiech, Tammy and Jeff Beck all of Lexington, many cousins and relatives, and his special dog Greta.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Saturday in the Church Parlor.
