Henry Thomas Snider, age 89 of Douglass Dr., Lexington died Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at Hinkle Hospice House.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday, January 3, 2011, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ed Armfield Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home.
Mr. Snider was born September 17, 1921, in Davidson County, to Webster Snider and Eda Fritts Snider. He was a retired supervisor from Binnings Building Products and a member of Cotton Grove United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir. Mr. Snider served in the U.S. Army during World War II earning the American Theater Campaign Medal, EAMET Campaign Medal with four Bronze Service Stars, Good Conduct Medal and a Victory Medal. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Juanita Lindsay Snider; brothers, Clifton, Grover and Lloyd; and sisters, Lessie, Blanche, and Minnie.
Surviving are sons, Roger Thomas Snider of Lexington and Bobby Ray Snider of Colorado; grandchildren, Merinda Wagner and husband, Shane, of Lexington, Susan Nance of Trinity, and Michael Snider of Tyro; and great-grandchildren, Jacob Blackburn, Nicholas Blackburn, Dillon Snider, Hunter Wagner and Rachel Wagner.
