Henry Richard Winston

Henry Richard “Bob” Winston, 84, of Walser Rd., Lexington passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Hinkle Hospice House.   A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, January 27, 2017 in Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Max Shoaf officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park.   The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, January 26, 2017 at the funeral home and other times at the home of Paula Bruff, 404 Anne St., Lexington, NC 27295   Mr. Winston was born July 14, 1932 in Davidson County to Henry Rudolph Winston and Lida Murdock Winston. He was a retired Police officer with the Lexington Police Dept.  and a member of Christ United Church of Christ. Bob played Semi Pro Baseball, coached American Legion Team, played football for the US Air Force, loved to bowl and was an avid golfer. He was a US veteran having served in the Air Force.  Preceding him in death were his parents, and his wife, Nancy Weaver Winston, Nov. 4, 2012.   Surviving is a daughter, Vicki Winston Blair (Robert) of Surside Beach, SC   Memorials may be directed to Christ United Church of Christ, 4 Price Road, Lexington, NC 27295
