Herbert Lee Clark

Herbert Lee Clark, born on December 2, 1936, in North Carolina, peacefully passed away on August 7, 2025, in Lexington, NC. He lived a life filled with dedication, love, and a deep commitment to his family.

Herbert spent his life as a dedicated mechanic, contributing his skills to the industry. He was known for his strong work ethic and commitment, spending many years working at Glosson Freight Ways. Beyond his professional life, Herbert found joy in simple things, especially spending time with his beloved family. He was a devoted member of the Baptist faith, finding solace and community in his spiritual beliefs.

His love for music was evident in his passion for playing the banjo and fiddle. The melodies he created brought joy to himself and those around him. Family was always at the forefront of Herbert's life, always putting them first.

Herbert is survived by his loving children: son Mike Clark (Cheryl) and daughter Barbara Athay (Webb), seven cherished grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his beloved spouse of 60 years, Sylvia Lenora Comer Clark, son Robert Clark, parents James Gudger Clark and Mattie Smith Clark.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, August 11, 2025, at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM at the same location with interment to follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.

Herbert's memory will be cherished by all who knew him. His dedication to his family, his love for music, and his unwavering spirit will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched. He will be deeply missed.
