Herbert Ira Farmer Sr.

Herbert Ira Farmer Sr., 73 of Leonard Road; Lexington died Tuesday night at his home after an illness of three months. Mr. Farmer was born February 27, 1933 in Ashe County to Baxter Burl Farmer and Tressie Campbell Farmer. He was the former owner and retired from Farmer Tree Service. Mr. Farmer was preceded in death by a brother Hubert Farmer and a sister Maxine Stout. Surviving are his wife Patricia Vestal Farmer of the home. A son Junior Farmer and wife Penny of Lexington, daughters Robin Tripp and husband Steve of Myrtle Beach, SC; and Tracie Smith of Welcome. Mr Farmer is also survied by four grandchildren; Corbin Tripp, Caleb Tripp, Hunter Smith, Baylee Farmer; brothers Allen Farmer of Banner Elk, and Walbert Farmer of West Jefferson; and sisters Janet Greer of Kannapolis and Chessie Prillman of Mountain City, TN. The funeral will be 2:00PM Friday (3-31-2006)at First Wesleyan Church conducted by Rev. Michael Greer. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel and other times at the home.
