Herbert Needham

Heaven welcomed a new angel, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Herbert Needham, 86, of Lexington, died Sunday, February 15, 2015, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Brian Workman officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park with military graveside rites by Davidson County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service. Mr. Needham was born August 20, 1928, in Montgomery County, to Charles Needham and Bertha Brown Needham. He was retired from Miller tool and attended Community Baptist Church. Mr. Needham served in the US Army. He was a kind loving, funny generous man who was a good friend to everyone he came in contact with. Surviving are his loving wife Sylvia Varner Needham of the home; sons, Mike Needham and wife Joyce, and Dean Needham, both of Lexington; daughter, Vickie Fox and husband Sam of North Pole, Ak.; stepson, Greg Sowers of Lexington; grandchildren, Michelle Smith, Samantha Lannet, Melissa Davis, and Charlie Needham; great-grandchildren, Jayven Smith, Lane Lannet, Pacey Lannet, Sam Lannet, Payton Davis, and Grayson Davis; and brother, Charles Needham of Aberdeen.
