Herman Combs, of Jackson Avenue Lexington passed away Friday night at Forsyth Medical Center/Palliative Care Unit. A Graveside service will be held at 4:00 pm Wednesday (June 30, 2010) at Lexington City Cemetery with Rev. Larry Michael and Mr. Wade Laughter officiating. Burial will follow.
Herman was born in Charleston, West Virginia July 30, 1931 to Rommie Combs and Hazel Milam Combs. He was a motorcycle mechanic, former employee of Lexington Furniture and worked for Food Lion on Winston Road for nine years. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Surviving are; his wife Maxine Byerly Combs of the home; one daughter, Vickie Lynn Combs of Trinity; one step-son, Louis Stuart of Lexington; two grandchildren, Katlin and Mary Combs; one sister, Mary Rowlands of Sylvester, W.VA; two brothers, Gene Landers and Kenny Landers of W. VA; four step-sisters, Ruby Payne, Betty Carter, Mazie Gibson and Tiny Landers all of W. VA.
