Hermann Karl Krueger

Hermann Karl Krueger, 86, of Lexington passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024 at Abbotts Creek Center in Lexington.

Mr. Krueger was born on Wednesday, April 27, 1938, in Berlin, Germany to the late Hermann Krueger and Elsbeth Ballin Krueger. When he was 16 years old, he, along with his family, moved to the United States. After graduating high school, Mr. Krueger enlisted in the U.S. Army.  He is a decorated Vietnam Veteran who proudly served his country. He remained in the Army until he retired in the late 1980’s. Shortly after his retirement, he met Maria Fonseca, and they were married in 1987. Mr. Krueger loved his wife and their family. He was a good and honest man. Mr. Krueger was a humble man with a quiet strength within him.  Along with being home with his wife, Mr. Krueger loved spending time with his grandchildren and being and grandpa, and great grandchildren, to whom he was “Too-Too.” He also enjoyed being outdoors and bird watching, particularly the hummingbirds. He enjoyed watching wrestling on TV and the company of his animal companion, Mellow Yellow, his cat.

Mr. Krueger was preceded in death by Maria’s son, William Morell; brother, Helmut Krueger; sisters, Ione Krueger, Edel Krueger, and Sigrid Krueger.

Mr. Krueger is survived by his wife, Maria Krueger; her daughter, Isabel Cranston and husband Gary of North Carolina; her sons, Miguel Morell and wife Vicki of Georgia, Adan Morell and his wife Cynthia of Georgia, Daniel Morell and his wife Natalia of Washington State, and his brother, Achim Krueger of New York. He is also survived by her Grandchildren, Scott Cranston, Maria Cranston, Elizabeth Cranston, Cristina Morell, Jessica Morell, Adan Morell II, Nino Morell, Keisha Johnson, Antonio Morell, Santiago Morell, Roman Hovorun and numerous Great Grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 2:00pm in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday, from 1:00pm-2:00pm at Davidson Funeral Home. A burial with military honors will follow the service at Forest Hill Cemetery in Lexington.
