Hilda Weaver Canady

Hilda Weaver Canady, 86, of Ridge Road, died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007, in Lexington Health Care after a lengthy illness. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Davidson Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Mike Hooper and Dr. Lee Jessup. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery. Mrs. Canady was born Feb. 1, 1921, in Davidson County to Meechum Wardie Weaver and Hattie Leonard Weaver. A retired employee for the City of Winston-Salem who worked in the Electrical Inspections Department, she was a member of First Reformed United Church of Christ and also a charter member of Craver Circle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pervia Victor Canady Jr. Surviving are a sister, Jackye Sink and her husband, Donald, of Lexington; nieces Patricia S. Essick and her husband, John Wayne, Grecia Sigmon, Angeline Ball and her husband, Donald, all of Lexington; nephews Sam Hampton, Mike Sink and his wife, Betty, of Lexington, Bobby Comer of Archdale and Paul Glenn Canady of Richmond, Va. The family will receive friends Monday, beginning one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be directed to First Reformed United Church of Christ, 104 E. Center St., Lexington, NC 27292.
