Hilda Jean Fields

Hilda Jean Leonard Fields, 78, of Thomasville, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 10, 2025 at Hinkle Hospice House.

A celebration of life service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel with Pastor Danny McBride officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 3:00 p.m.

Hilda was born on October 5, 1946 in Rockingham County, NC to the late James Vernon Leonard and Ethel Lucille King Leonard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Fields Sr., and a sister, Silvia Diane Trexler.

Hilda previously worked as a sprayer for Stanley Furniture before retiring. She dearly loved all of her friends and the community of Tomlinson Hill Apartments. In her free time, she enjoyed writing in her journal, solving puzzles, and playing Bingo. She had a special place in her heart for her beloved dogs, Oreo and Mac.

Those left to cherish her memory include four children, Annette Carroll, Tina Byerly (Ricky James), Jamie Everhart, and James Fields Jr.; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, who will all miss her dearly.
