Hilda Dorsett Leonard, 93, of Greenway Drive, passed away Monday, Dec. 7, 2009, at her home.
Her funeral to honor her life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Chapel of First Reformed United Church of Christ by the Rev. Dr. Walter Patten. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
Mrs. Leonard was born in Guilford County on April 1, 1916, to John Rufus Dorsett and Lorena Justice Dorsett. She was a homemaker and enjoyed her lifelong Bridge Club friends. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of First Reformed United Church of Christ.
She is survived by a son, Don Leonard, of Pawleys Island, S.C.; a daughter, Jane Leonard of Raleigh; two grandchildren, Beth Szymeczek and her husband, Jim, of Wilmington and Anne Pagnani and her husband, Jim, of Washington, N.C.; five great-grandchildren, Mary Anne Szymeczek, Matthew Leonard Szymeczek, Suzanne Carolyn Szymeczek, all of Wilmington, Zachary Joseph Pagnani and Mia Carolann Pagnani, of Washington, N.C.
The family will receive friends in the parlor of First Reformed United Church of Christ from 1-2 p.m. on Friday prior to the service.
