Hilda Ann Hill Surratt, 82, of Lexington died Thursday, September 15, 2016, at her home. The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday, September 18, 2016, at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Wade “Bud” Powell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2 to 3 p.m. at the church and other times at the home. Mrs. Surratt was born April 28, 1934, in Rowan County, to Harmon Hill and Ella Allen Hill. She was retired from Dacotah Cotton Mill where she worked as a warper. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Surratt Sr.; sons, Miles Anthony Surratt and Clayton Lindsay Surratt; and daughter, Cheryl Stephens. Surviving are sons, Charles Joseph Surratt Jr., Sam Surratt, and Shannon Surratt; daughters, Carolyn Browning, Rachel Dyar and Mary Hege; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
