Hobert Ed “Pete” Wilson, 74, of Michael Alley, died Saturday, September 11, 2010, at Hinkle Hospice House, following an extended illness. A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 14, 2010, at Lexington City Cemetery, with the Revs. Kenneth Deal and Allen Smith officiating. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday. At other times they will to at the home of the sister, Sally Leonard, on Michael Alley. Mr. Wilson was born May 26, 1936, in Davidson County, to Willie Ed Wilson and Fannie Monkus Wilson. He was a painter for Valentine Everhart and a member of Heavenly Sunlight Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert “Sonny Buck” Wilson; and a great-grandson, DillionWilson. Surviving are his wife, Betty Mickle Wilson of Lexington; sons, Johnny Lee Wilson and Willie Ed Wilson II, both of Winston-Salem; grandsons, Michael Ed Wilson, Little John Wilson, Big John Wilson, and Jeremy Wilson; great-grandson, Dalton Wilson; brothers, Herman Lee “Chub” Wilson and wife, Yvonne, of Welcome, Raymond “Doc” Wilson of Lexington; sister, Virgie “Sally” Leonard; and niece, Janice Campfield of the home.
