Hollis "Don" Myers

  Hollis Donald “Don” Myers, age 79, of Lexington passed away on Saturday November 19, 2016 at Rowan Medical Center.   A funeral service will be held at Tyro United Methodist Church at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 22, 2016. Entombment will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.   The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm prior to the service at the Church.   Mr. Myers was born in Davidson County on May 22, 1937 to Hollis M. Myers and Marie Mize Myers. Don was the president of Myers Tool and Machine, and for over 30 years he and Judy owned the Country Market. Don was also an avid saltwater fisherman and loved spending time at Cherry Grove Beach with his family. He was named senior angler of the year three times by the Southern King Fish association. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of Memorial Lodge 696 and attended Tyro United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents.   Surviving are his loving wife of 60 years, Judy Myers of the home; two sons, Hollis Donald “Donnie” Myers Jr. and fiancé Melody Murphy of Lexington, and Eric Alexander Myers and wife Pam of Lexington; one brother, Eddie Myers of Lexington; one sister, Phyllis Myers Hedrick and husband Eugene of Lexington; four grandchildren, Abbey Ellison and husband John, Hollis Donald “Tripp” Myers III, Hannah Raye Myers, and Alex Myers; one great grandson, Jake Ellison; and his furbabies, Babydoll and Clementine.   Memorials may be directed to Tyro United Methodist Church at 4484 S NC Hwy 150 Lexington, NC 27295.   The family would like to thank Dr. Patel and the nursing staff and Rowan Medical Center for their wonderful care and support.
