Hollis Briggs Trexler, 87 of Center Church Road, died Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, at Hinkle Hospice House of Lexington.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday at the Jersey Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Morris Hollifield.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Trexler was born May 16, 1924, in Davidson County to Bruce Briggs and Elsie Smith Briggs. She retired from the North Davidson Public Library system after 23 years. She was a long time member of Beulah United Church of Christ where she served in various capacities and also taught Sunday school. She was preceded in death by her husband Percy Allen Trexler and two brothers, Joe Smith Briggs and James O. "Jimmy" Briggs.
Surviving are her sons, Rodney Trexler of Raleigh NC, Allen Trexler and his wife, Lisa, of Denton NC, Bruce Trexler, and Todd Trexler and his wife, Elena, both of Lexington; her sister, Rachel Tuttle of Lexington NC; seven grandchildren, Blair Trexler, Pavel Anokhin, and Rachel Trexler of Lexington NC, Will Trexler, Katie Watkins, and Abbey Watkins of Denton NC.
