Holly Owens Cope

Holly Mardell Cope, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, December 10th, 2024, at the age of 77. Holly was born on Monday, April 7th, 1947, in Westmoreland, PA, where she spent her early years before making Lexington, NC her home.

Holly devoted her life to her family and her passions. She lit up every room she entered and touched many lives with her kindness and compassion. As a dedicated homemaker, she found joy in creating a loving home environment filled with warmth and laughter. Her service to her country in the Air Force exemplified her strength and commitment to the greater good, qualities that carried over into her home life.

A faithful member of Coggins Memorial Baptist Church, Holly found solace and strength in her faith, participating actively in church activities and becoming an integral part of that community. Her involvement showcased her fervent devotion and the importance she placed on her spiritual life.

Holly is survived by her loving sons, Jeff Cope and his wife Francine of Lexington, and Jason Cope and his wife Heidi, of Durham, her brothers; John Owens and Billy Owens, both of Apollo, PA, sister; Debbie Walser of Lexington, and four grandchildren; Courtney McElroy of Winston-Salem, Kayla Basim of Kernersville, Emma Cope and Easton Cope, both of Durham and one great-grandchild, Everest McElroy. Her legacy of love and kindness will continue through them and all those she touched during her lifetime. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Mansfield Owens and his wife Mary, and her beloved husband, Gary Franklin Cope, as well as her treasured daughter, Tamra Cope.

A graveside service honoring Holly's life will be held 3:00 PM, Monday, December 16 at Forest Hill Memorial Park.

Family, friends, and community members are welcome to gather for visitation Sunday December 15, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington.
