Lexington passed away at Abbotts Creek Sunday night February 21, 2016. There will not be a public funeral service, however the family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Tuesday night, February 23, 2016. Homer was born in Davidson County August 24, 1939 to Homer Jackson Hayes and Leona Everhart Hayes. He was a member of Second Reformed United Church of Christ and was a self-employed Gunsmith. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his wife Jo Nell Pickett Hayes of the home; son, Timothy Ray Hayes of Lexington; granddaughter, Tracy Ward; grandsons, William ray Hayes and Linzy Ray Hayes; great-grandchildren, Abigail Ward, Elaina Ward and Bonnie Jo Hayes; sisters, Judy Kepley and Mary Jo Leonard both of Lexington.
