Howard "Buddy" Mcdaniel, Sr.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Howard Lewis McDaniel, who left us on Tuesday, March 4th, 2025, at the age of 66. Born on Wednesday, May 21st, 1958, in Raleigh, West Virginia, Howard resided in Linwood, NC, where he was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

Howard dedicated many years of his life working as a serviceman for Energy United, where his colleagues admired him for his work ethic and dedication. He also served honorably in the United States Army, showcasing his commitment to his country.

He leaves behind his devoted wife, Anita Akers McDaniel, who stood by him through all life's seasons. Howard was the cherished father of Stephanie McDaniel, Crystal McDaniel Wilfong (and husband Chris), and Howard Lewis McDaniel, Jr. He is survived by his loving brother, Jerry McDaniel, and sister, Debbie Wiseman (and husband Steve). Howard's legacy continues through his adored grandchildren: Hannah McDaniel, Tristan Leonard, Kaitlyn Payne, Landon Teague, Kerri Cates, Colton McDaniel, and Abby Wilfong.

Howard joins in eternal rest his parents, Howard Jr McDaniel and Jenna McDaniel, whom he cherished deeply.

Friends and family are invited to honor Howard’s life at a memorial service scheduled for 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at the Davidson Funeral Home. Rev. Danny Sams will officiate the ceremony. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, providing an opportunity to offer condolences and share cherished memories.

Arrangements have been thoughtfully provided by Davidson Funeral Home. Howard's spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him, and his memory will be forever treasured. May he rest in peace.
