Howard Eugene “Pete” Hailey, Sr. age 62 of Briggs Road, Lexington passed away Wednesday at Lexington Medical Center. Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday in the Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel with Rev. Robert Beckom officiating. Burial will follow at Holloways Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be at the home of his sister, Jean Allen, 327 Poplar Drive, Lexington. Pete was born in Davidson County, January 19, 1951 to Samuel Elijah Hailey, Sr. and Lillie Mae Reid Hailey. He was a member of Holloways Baptist Church and was former owner/operator of Lexington Headliner and Glass. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Roy Richard, James Everette and Samuel Elijah Hailey. Pete is survived by; daughters, Donna Gail Mantooth and Denita Jean Burns; son, Howard E. Hailey, Jr.; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Jean Allen of Lexington; brother, James “Jumpy” Giles of Lexington; several nieces and nephews.
