Howard “Larry” Lawrence McIntosh, 67, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2026, in Forsyth County. Born on January 12, 1959, in Forsyth County, Larry was the son of the late William Carol McIntosh and Patricia Ledbetter Hawks.
Larry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose greatest joy was his family. He especially cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren. Larry had a gift for making people laugh and could always be counted on to put a smile on someone’s face. His stories, humor, and warm personality brought joy to everyone who was fortunate enough to know him.
Larry enjoyed many things in life, including watching sports and NASCAR, sharing funny stories from his childhood, and spending time with the people he loved. He had a special love for the beach and treasured family vacations to Emerald Isle, Barefoot Landing, and Murrells Inlet. He also enjoyed hunting and surf fishing, making the most of the outdoors.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Sherry Pope McIntosh; his son, Eric McIntosh (Faith); his daughter, Sarah Burchfield (Randy); and his adored grandchildren, Quentin and Maxwell McIntosh, and Ethan, Samuel, and Julia Burchfield.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Davidson Funeral Home of Winston-Salem. The family will receive friends for visitation beginning an hour prior, 3:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
