Howard "Wes" Wesley Phillips, Jr.

Howard Wesley (Wes) Phillips, Jr., 61, of the Holly Grove Community passed away March 1, at his home, following an extended illness. Memorial Service will be 4 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2013, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Preacher Clyde Akers officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Mr. Phillips was born November 12, 1951, in Columbia, SC, to Howard Wesley Phillips Sr. and Magdalene Coggins Phillips. For many years he was in the masonry and grading business, he had last worked for Davidson County, prior to his illness. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Sue Wood Phillips, who died March 15, 2002. Surviving are his sister, Betty Shoaf and husband Jimmy of Lexington; nephews, Scott Shoaf and wife Stephanie and Brad Shoaf and wife Jill, all of Lexington and cousins , Dawn Bell, Tamara Stutts, Garland Link and Frank Lansdale Jr. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, P.O.
