Hoyle “Bud” Lee Burris Jr., 60, of Wren Blvd. Lexington died Thursday March 28, 2013 at his home after an extended illness.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday March 30, 2013 at Stoner’s Grove Baptist Church, where he was a member, with Rev. Billy Pearson officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
A visitation will be held 6:00pm to 8:00pm Friday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel
Mr. Burris was born in Davidson County on May 13, 1952 to Hoyle Lee Burris Sr. and Alice Burris Williams. He was employed with Lexington Furniture for 24 ½ years as a Maintenance Supervisor and then with General Transmission for 14 years as a Sales Rep. He was an active member of his church and former, chairman of the Deacons until his illness. Bud was always active in all church functions and a mentor to a lot of friends. He was preceded in death by his father and a special nephew Tyson Miller.
Surviving are his wife Marquehetta Miller Burris of the home, two daughters April Sink and husband Donald of Salisbury and Tracy Martin and husband Eddie of Lexington, one step son Shannon Miller and a step daughter Julia Littleton and husband Jeffery of Lexington, eight grandchildren and 1 great grandchild
