Hoyle Hollis Coppley

June 13, 1923 — March 20, 2017

Hoyle Hollis Coppley, 93, of Old Linwood Rd., Lexington passed away Monday, March 20, 2017 in High Point Regional Hospital.  A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Linwood United Methodist Church with Rev. Charles Lindquist officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 pm Sunday just prior to the service.  Mr. Coppley was born on June 13, 1923 in Davidson County to Marcel Bingham Coppley and Caroline Elizabeth Leonard Coppley. He was a lifetime member of Linwood United Methodist Church where he had served as Secretary and Treasurer of the Young Men’s Class.  Hoyle was a retired Shipping Clerk for Davidson-Gordon Veneer Co. and was a US Veteran having served in the Army during WWII.  Preceding him in death was his wife of 71 years, Margaret Cody Coppley May 29, 2015, a brother, Arvil Coppley and wife, Edna Beeker, a sister, Wilma Coppley Byerly and husband, Eugene.  Surviving are a son, Gwyn Coppley of Linwood; a grandson, Chad Coppley, a granddaughter, Kendall Coppley McLemore (Dusty); two great grandsons, Christian Podgaysky and Hunter McLemore.   Memorials may be directed to Linwood United Methodist Church, PO Box 82, Linwood, NC 27299.
