Hoyle Hanes age 87 of Reedy Creek Road, passed away Thursday evening November 11th , at Brian Center Nursing Care . A funeral service to celebrate his life will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday November 14th, at Reedy Creek Church of Christ where he was a member, and former elder and preacher, conducted by Elder James Percival and Elder Don Sloan.
Burial will follow in Reedy Creek Church of Christ cemetery.
The family will see friends 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday November 13th at Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel, and other times at the home.
Mr. Hanes was born August 19, 1923 in Davidson County to Baxter and Effie Berrier Hanes. He was a retired self employed building contractor. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Eugene, Holland, Shady, and Clyde Hanes, and two sisters, Gurla Mae Freedle, and Bertie Swicegood.
Surviving Mr. Hanes, are his wife of 65 years Dorothy Brewer Hanes of the home; two sons Randy Neil Hanes (Jane) and Jimmy Clayton Hanes (Sherry) of Lexington; two daughters Rita Faye Spencer (Benny) of Arcadia and Roxie Hanes Lunsford of Clemmons; eight grandchildren, April Atwood (Mark), Misti Varner (Jason) and Bart Lunsford all of Clemmons, Brent Hanes ( Shannon), Zachary Hanes, Tyler Hanes, and Mark Spencer (Katrina) all of Lexington, and Kregg Spencer (Carmen) of Wilmington; ten great-grandchildren, Sophia, Savanna, Brittney, Alex, Josh, Anna, Chaney, Ivy, Anna Leigh, and Bryson ; and a sister Lucille Smith Wray of Clemmons.
